Part Borrowing Rules
We aim to make borrowing parts from the society as easy as possible, but we do need to set a few rules to make sure that parts are returned on time and in good condition for other society members to use!
A. Identities of Parties:
The Robotics Society represents the Lender.
The Borrower is the society’s member identified by email in the part request form.
B. Description of the Goods
Lender agrees to loan to Borrower, on the date specified in and for the length of time defined on the part request form, the goods described in the part request form.
C. Borrower's Rights and Obligations
Borrower agrees to accept the goods and must be a member of the society, and have subscribed to the suppliment through the Student Union site, and as such are subject to the terms further set out below.
Borrower agrees to return the good(s) in full by the date the request was made plus the duration as defined on the part request form. The Borrower is expected to return good(s) in their original condition, and the Lender must be notified if any breakages occur.
D. Lender and Borrower’s Agreements
- What happens if Borrower breaks/loses any of the components?
If Borrower breaks (due to intentional misuse, accidental breakage, or otherwise) or loses a good taken from the Society, the good will have to be replaced by the exact same one, or a reimbursement to the Lender with the cost for items damaged as defined in the part request form.
If good(s) break due to normal wear and tear, or component failure during its normal working conditions, then the Borrower is not required to replace or pay for the good.
- What happens if Borrower doesn’t meet the deadline date?
The goods will have to be returned to Lender, Borrower’s membership may be revoked, and this will be considered for future requests.
- What happens if Borrower needs an extension of the deadline?
Contact Lender (robotics.society@hw.ac.uk) and the case will be evaluated.
